DATA CONTROLLER AND DATA PROTECTION OFFICER
The Data Controller is Metallurgica Bresciana S.p.A. (hereinafter also referred to as the "Company" or "Metallurgica Bresciana") with registered office in Viale Marconi n. 31, Dello (BS), e-mail: info.metallurgica@stl.tech.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, and which types we have implemented, including the information we collect and how users can control their cookie preferences.
This policy also informs the user about how personal data collected via the metallurgicabresciana.it portal is processed, stored, and safely archived.
Users may modify or withdraw their consent to the use of cookies on our website at any time.
WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files sent from the visited website to the user's device (usually to the browser), where they are stored so that the device can be recognized upon the next visit. Indeed, during each subsequent visit, cookies are sent back from the user's device to the site. However, cookies can be installed not only by the operator of the visited website (first-party cookies) but also by a different site that installs cookies through the first one (third-party cookies) and is able to recognize them. This happens because the visited site may contain elements (images, maps, sounds, links to web pages of other domains, etc.) residing on servers different from that of the visited site.
Pursuant to the Italian Data Protection Authority's (Garante della Privacy) Provision of May 8, 2014, "Identification of simplified arrangements for the provision of information and the acquisition of consent for the use of cookies", the EDPB Guidelines 5/2020 on consent, and the Garante's Provision of June 10, 2021, "Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools" (hereinafter, the "Provisions"), for cookies installed by third parties, the obligations of information and, if applicable, consent rest upon the third parties. The website owner, acting as a technical intermediary between third parties and users, is required to include updated links to the third parties' privacy policies and consent forms within the extended policy information.
Based on their purpose, cookies are classified into technical cookies and profiling cookies.
Technical cookies are installed for the sole purpose of "carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service" (cf. art. 122, paragraph 1 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 - the Privacy Code - as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018). They are usually used to allow efficient navigation between pages, store user preferences, save information about specific user configurations, authenticate users, etc.
Technical cookies can be subdivided into navigation cookies, used to record data useful for normal navigation and use of the website on the user's computer (e.g., remembering the preferred page size in a list), and functional cookies, which allow the website to remember choices made by the user to optimize functionality (e.g., remembering specific settings like country selection and, if configured, permanent login status). Some of these cookies (called essential or strictly necessary) enable functions without which certain operations could not be performed. Pursuant to the aforementioned art. 122, paragraph 1 of Legislative Decree 196/2003, the use of technical cookies does not require user consent.
As specified in the Provisions, analytical cookies (analytics) are treated like technical cookies (and therefore do not require user consent or further regulatory obligations for installation) if they are created and used directly by the first-party website operator (without third-party intervention) for site optimization purposes to collect aggregate information on the number of users and how they visit the site, as well as third-party analytical cookies used by the first-party site for purely statistical purposes, provided that appropriate measures are adopted to reduce the identifying power of the analytical cookies used (for example, by masking significant portions of the IP address).
Profiling cookies are used to track user navigation, analyze behavior for marketing purposes, and create profiles on tastes, habits, choices, etc., in order to deliver targeted advertising messages in relation to the user's interests and in line with preferences expressed during online navigation.
Such cookies can only be installed on the user's device if they have expressed their consent in the manner indicated in the Provisions. Based on their duration, cookies are divided into persistent cookies, which remain stored on the user's device until their expiration date unless removed by the user, and session cookies, which are not stored persistently on the user's device and vanish when the browser is closed.
